Dental Crowns – Chittenango, NY

Protecting and Strengthening Weakened Teeth

When a tooth becomes weakened by decay or damage, the only way to prevent additional harm is with a dental crown. For years, dentists all over the world have helped patients protect and restore their smiles, offering greater confidence and an improved appearance. At Chittenango Family Dental, Dr. Badawy’s experience and training, and his gentle and careful touch are just a few of the many reasons patients continually seek him for treatment. Through the use of dental crowns, he and his team can give you a reason to smile again. Call us to schedule an appointment with Dr. Badawy today.

Why Choose Chittenango Family Dental for Dental Crowns?

What is the Process to Receive a Dental Crown?

After a thorough examination of the tooth in question, should your dentist decide a dental crown is necessary, here is what you can expect:

  1. Badawy will begin by cleaning out the decay or damaged portion of your tooth and rinsing it thoroughly.
  2. He will then seal it to prevent any harmful bacteria from re-entering the tooth.
  3. Filing down the tooth, he will take impressions, which will be sent off to a dental lab. Technicians will use the impression as a blueprint to craft your custom, all-porcelain dental crown.
  4. You will be fitted with a temporary crown until the permanent is finished. Once it arrives back in our office, you will return for your second and final appointment to have the temporary removed and the permanent one cemented in place.

As an alternative to traditional dental crowns, we also offer E4D Planmeca CAD/CAM Same-Day Crowns. This means you can come in with a damaged tooth and leave our office with a fully restored smile. Using the E4D Planmeca CAD/CAM system, we can take 3D images of the tooth in question and use them to create and design a custom-made dental crown in our office.

While you wait, we will craft the restoration and send it to a milling unit, where a piece of porcelain is placed, and your dental crown is made. Once it is ready, Dr. Badawy will give it a final polish and ensure it looks correct before placing it over your natural tooth.

One of the greatest aspects of this type of dental crown is the convenience it offers. Not only do you spend less time in the dentist chair, but you can have a fully restored smile in just one visit!
